JUNE 2017
We had one hour meeting session with the Head of Data Protection and Information Security of the University, Mr. Craig. It was interactive and a knowledge sharing one hour session. Mr. Craig is an IT security expert, who has strong background in social engineering and data act regulation. He highlighted on the University’s IT security audit and roll over in 2015 for the adoption of strict data protection policy for the University. We discussed issues on data protection and information security policy sustainability issues, policy training awareness for users and current data Act regulations binding Universities in the world.
MAY 2017
I Arrived at the University of East London (UEL) on the 16th of May, 2017. I was received by Kulvinder (Programme Co-ordinator) at 9am and spent a couple of hours completing other relevant migration documents. I was introduced to some staff of the IT Services Department and had a tour of the Docklands Campus of the University. we were offered tutorial by Kulvinder on the University’s intranet application services: (Skype, Outlook Express, OneNote, Office 365 and SharePoint). We had two hour session on Information Security and data protection delivered by Kulvinder.
JULY 2017
We visited and had a tour of the University of Greenwich library block complex with other fellows of the programme. Presentation was done by the Director of Information and Library Services, Mr Paul Bullet. We were updated on the current library services of the University which include: Technology, research trends and students focused delivery services. On Tuesday, 04th May, We had a meeting with the Associate Director of Infrastructure and Applications Services of UEL, Mr. Jim Watts.
