THE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME: GURDISH SANDHU, ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR
The mentor, Gurdish Sandhu –Associate Director - Information Strategy has worked in various senior roles in British Universities over 20 years.
She has setup Digital libraries from scratch in three Universities and now in the process of developing the Digital Strategy for University of East London. She has also worked in India and Nigeria and understands educational models and issues faced by academics, researchers, University Administrators, IT & Information Professionals from developing Countries.
She is well aware of cultural and organisational barriers in implementing digital technologies in those Countries. She has learnt from past fellows that there is no mentoring or coaching programmes in place for the continue development and nurturing of skills & competence.
In this era, the shelf life of learnt skills is less than 5 years and in IT less than two years. Hence, academics, University Administrators, IT& Information Professionals are expected to deliver services of today with yesterday’s technologies and skills.
Gurdish has considerable experience in developing digital capabilities in British Universities. Gurdish is also a qualified Career Coach and well placed to provide the coaching and mentorship to fellows.
HER MENTORING TECHNIQUE IS AMAZING!!!!!
