I Arrived at the University of East London (UEL) on the 16th of May, 2017. I was received by Kulvinder (Programme co-ordinator at UEL) at 9am and spent a couple of hours completing other relevant migration documents. I was introduced to some staff of the IT Services Department and had a tour of the Docklands Campus of the University. We were offered tutorial by Kulvinder on the University’s intranet application services: (Skype, Outlook Express, OneNote, Office 365 and SharePoint). We had two hour session on Information Security and data protection delivered by Kulvinder.
On the 16th - 17th May, we attended an ICT conference on Unified Communications (UC EXPO 2017) at ExCel London. I had the opportunity to sit in a number of sessions relevant to ICT development (Cloud, Mobile, Customer, Video, Networks and Collaborations) which included:

I had a brief meeting with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the IT Services Department, Mr Andy Cook. He walked myself and the other fellows through the organogram of the IT Services Department and emphasized on the deployment of relevant strategies by the Department to help the University achieve its vision and mission. We had a tour of the Docklands Library of the University and subsequently held a meeting with the Library Director of the University. The meeting was centered on the type of software (Alma) being used by the library and its challenges.
On Friday 19th May, 2017, all fellows had a session with Gurdish, in setting up three objectives (3) for the fellowship programme as follows:

How to build digital capabilities (Digital foundation/discovery, digital processes digital policy and framework).

On 24th May, we attended a workshop on Copyright and Creative Commons (CC) delivered by Naomi Korn. I learnt the different types of creative commons copyright open content licenses and their meaning:

I had an interactive meeting with the Transformation and planning Director of University of London Mr. Martin regarding digital transformation and planning processes with regard to University of London settings.
He elaborated further on the setting up of a subsidiary University consultancy services Unit called CoSector (www.cosector.com) which renders ICT and library consultancy services to the University.
The week ended with an interesting session with Gurdish on the topic: KNOW YOURSELF/SELF DISCOVERY: Personal behavior measuring values.

Considering the current trend of moodle development within higher education settings for teaching and learning, an interactive moodle training session was organized for all fellows on 30th May. The main topics covered were:
